Major Objective

The mission of the Immanuel Mar Thoma Church Choir is to lead the congregation in Worship. Its objective is to actively take part in Church Services in order to enrich the worship with songs. The Choir takes leadership to teach contemporary songs and to promote a love and appreciation for sacral songs and music.

Profile

The Choir was formed in the latter part of the 70s. It is affiliated to the Mar Thoma Church’ s official music organization, the Department of Sacred Music and Communications, Thiruvalla, Kerala, India. At present, the Choir has 86 members distributed over the 4 voices – soprano, alto, tenor and bass of which, around half of its members are under the age of 20 years.

Managing Committee

A committee consisting of 10 members manages the Choir’s activities in close cooperation with the Choir President and the Parish Vicar.
